TTFA PRESIDENT, GENERAL SECRETARY COMPLETE FIFA EXECUTIVE PROGRAMME IN GOOD GOVERNANCE
Trinidad and Tobago Football Association President Kieron Edwards and General Secretary Kareem Paul have successfully completed the FIFA Executive Programme in Governance, culminating in the presentation of certificates at the programme’s closing workshop in Miami.
The 12-week capacity development and education initiative is designed to equip football administrators with the skills and knowledge required to strengthen governance practices within Member Associations, with focus areas including compliance, financial management, transparency, accountability, stakeholder engagement and operational governance.

FIFA President Gianni Infantino attended the final module ahead of the graduation ceremony (Americas-Caribbean) in Miami, USA.
The two-day event, held at the Freedom Tower, marked the conclusion of a comprehensive journey for 26 senior executives, including presidents and general secretaries from Caribbean FIFA Member Associations,
The programme, led by respected governance expert Nic Coward, alongside senior executives and specialists from FIFA and other sports organisations, combined online learning modules, live virtual sessions and an in-person workshop.

For Edwards and Paul, participation in the programme reflects the TTFA’s continued commitment to strengthening governance, professionalism and institutional development.
Edwards described the programme as both timely and valuable for the Association’s continued progress.
“Good governance is fundamental to the future of football administration, and this programme reinforced the standards, principles and practical tools necessary to build strong, transparent and accountable institutions,” Edwards said.

General Secretary Paul said the programme offered practical insights that can support the Association’s ongoing operational development, adding that the programme touched critical areas ranging from constitutional compliance and financial governance to stakeholder engagement, safeguarding and operational sustainability.
It was a valuable learning experience and one that supports the TTFA’s determination to ensure the organization operates in keeping with best international practices.

Among the programme modules were Introduction to Good Governance, Constitutional Compliance, Financial Governance, Transparency and Accountability, Stakeholder Engagement, and Operational Governance, each focused on practical tools and frameworks to support stronger governance structures within football institutions.
Topics explored included the FIFA Good Governance Framework, executive committee performance evaluation, financial oversight, anti-bribery and integrity standards, stakeholder relations, as well as safeguarding, diversity and inclusion policies.
The TTFA views the successful completion of the programme by both its President and General Secretary as another important step in advancing the Association’s governance agenda and reinforcing its commitment to best practice at all levels of the game.
The certification in Miami also underscored FIFA’s continued emphasis on governance as a cornerstone of sustainable football development worldwide.
