FIFAe makes a return to T&T

FIFAe makes its return to Trinidad and Tobago in a revitalized, modern format designed to redefine what esports means for our region. This exciting comeback goes beyond competition; it’s about breaking the stigma around esports and creating real opportunities for young talent to shine on the global stage. With a strong focus on inclusion and development, TTeFA is paving the way for gamers to proudly represent their country while building careers and communities within the ever-evolving digital sports ecosystem.

What is eFootball?
eFootball refers to the digital simulation of football through officially recognized video game titles that mirror the real-world rules, formats, and competitive dynamics of the sport. It includes online and offline play, both casual and competitive, where individual players or teams control virtual footballers within a structured gaming environment.

In FIFAe-sanctioned contexts, eFootball primarily encompasses titles like EA SPORTS FC (formerly FIFA), and now, as of 2024, also includes Konami’s eFootball series, which has been officially recognized for international esports competition. These games serve as platforms for global tournaments, rankings, and club/national representation, fostering community engagement and professional pathways in virtual football. For the purposes of the FIFAe World Cup, at this juncture only eFootball will be used in the Dream Team 2v2 format on ps5 ONLY.

*Dream Team is the core game mode in Konami’s eFootball where users build a custom team by acquiring real-life players and managers. Players can be developed through training and progression systems, and teams are shaped by tactical playstyles. The mode includes ranked divisions (eFootball League), time-limited Challenge and Tour Events, and casual friendlies. Weekly updates reflect real-world performances, and the format is used in official competitions like the eFootball World Finals. As of 2025, player contracts no longer expire, making long-term squad building more flexible.

Other recognized forms of eFootball under the FIFA umbrella include:
• EFootball mobile
• Rocket League

What is the TT eFootbal League?
The TTeFL is a pioneering effort to fuse football tradition with digital innovation. It is designed to empower local gamers, elevate clubs into the Esports space, and project Trinidad and Tobago onto the international Esports map; all while building a community that thrives on inclusion, competition, and opportunity.
