TTPFL 2025/2026 Season Launches at HCS
The Trinidad and Tobago Premier Football League (TTPFL) officially launched its 2025–2026 season on Sunday evening at the Hasely Crawford Stadium VIP Lounge, signaling the start of another exciting chapter in local professional football.
This year’s competition will feature 12 clubs, kicking off with a thrilling double header on Thursday, October 24th at the Dwight Yorke Stadium in Tobago. The opening night will see Miscellaneous Police FC face San Juan Jabloteh, followed by FC Phoenix taking on Terminix La Horquetta Rangers.
New energy also comes off the field with the addition of several key sponsors. KFC, National Flour Mills, Stag, and Sunshine Snacks join the League’s existing partners Reboot, ADM, and Khan’s Poultry, reinforcing a growing confidence in the TTPFL’s direction and future.
In his address at the launch, TTPFL CEO Yale Antoine described the occasion as “the next step in the ongoing evolution of our domestic game,” emphasizing that for the first time, the league will operate under the guidance of a duly elected TTFA Executive Committee — a shift that he said represents “stability, accountability, and collective responsibility for the direction of our sport.”
Antoine also highlighted the League’s continued collaboration with the Sport Company of Trinidad and Tobago and expressed gratitude to the Ministry of Sport and Community Development for their investment in football’s growth. He confirmed that the new campaign will run from October to March, with at least five matchdays to be hosted in Tobago, underscoring a firm commitment to nationwide football development.

“This season is particularly significant. For the very first time, the TTPFL will operate under the guidance and governance of a duly elected Executive Committee of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association. It’s a new chapter — one that represents stability, accountability, and collective responsibility for the direction of our sport,” Antoine said.
As we gather here this evening, I want to begin by expressing sincere appreciation to our partners, especially the Sport Company of Trinidad and Tobago, whose steadfast support and collaboration have been instrumental in ensuring that our league continues to meet professional standards both on and off the field.
To Honourable Minister Phillip Watts and the Ministry of Sport and Community Development, we extend our deepest gratitude for their continued investment in the development of football across the nation. Your partnership reminds us that sport is not just about competition — it’s about community, opportunity, and national pride.
We also owe a tremendous debt of thanks to those who make matchdays possible — our matchday operational staff, referees, match commissioners, and the TTFA office staff who work tirelessly behind the scenes. Your dedication ensures that every game is played in the right spirit, under the right conditions, and to the highest possible standards.
A special mention as well to our marketing team, whose creativity continues to grow the League’s identity and reach, and to Mr. Shaun Fuentes and Ms. Kadesh Alexander, whose leadership and energy have been invaluable in bringing the TTPFL’s vision — including this night — to life.”
Antoine spoke about the upcoming season schedule and the important decisions taken to align with the rest of the region.
“Now, as we look ahead to the new season, the 2025–2026 campaign will run from October through March, featuring our regular league competition along with knockout tournaments that promise added excitement and intensity.
“We’re especially proud that this season will kick off with matches in Tobago — a reflection of our commitment to ensuring that professional football thrives throughout the twin-island Republic.
“In fact, I’m pleased to confirm that during the first round of the season, running up to the start of January 2026, the League will stage a minimum of five matchdays in Tobago. This initiative not only gives Tobagonian fans the chance to enjoy the TTPFL experience firsthand, but also strengthens the foundation for football development and infrastructure on the island.
“We would like to take this moment to thank the players and staff of Phoenix FC and wish them the very best as they now fully join the TTPFL fixtures at the source of their fans and supporters.
“Looking further ahead, our next season will start earlier in the calendar year. This will allow our clubs to remain in top form and align with the CONCACAF and Caribbean Football Union (CFU) competition cycles. Tentatively, the 2026 CFU Club Shield is expected between late July and early August 2026, and the CONCACAF Caribbean Cup from August through October 2026, with continental knockout rounds to follow in early 2027.“
“By synchronizing our domestic calendar with these competitions, we ensure that Trinidad and Tobago’s clubs enter the regional stage match-fit, competitive, and ready to represent our nation with pride,” he continued.
Speaking on behalf of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association, TTFA Vice President and Chairman of the Competitions Committee, Jameson Rigues, described the launch as “a celebration of progress, resilience, and shared vision.”
Rigues noted that four seasons after its introduction, the TTPFL continues to grow “not only on the field, but in its management, professionalism, and impact on communities across our twin-island nation.” He credited improved club organization, stronger youth development, and the emergence of local talent now making an impact regionally and internationally.
Rigues also praised the collective effort behind the League’s progress — from government partners and corporate sponsors to volunteers and officials — while reaffirming the TTFA’s commitment to “deepening collaboration with clubs, improving player welfare, strengthening governance, and expanding the League’s visibility and commercial value.”
He reminded all present that football remains “the heartbeat of Trinidad and Tobago,” and called on players, clubs, and fans alike to continue building together — “one match, one goal, one dream at a time.”
Both Antoine and Rigues expressed optimism that Season 4 will continue to raise the bar for local football, inspiring pride and unity through the beautiful game.
