TTFA Signs MOUs with Safe to Play Foundation and TTTTA to Strengthen Safeguarding and Good Governance in Sport
The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) on Wednesday formalised two significant partnerships at The University of the West Indies (UWI), St. Augustine, signing Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs) with the Safe to Play Foundation and the Trinidad and Tobago Table Tennis Association (TTTTA).
These agreements signal a united commitment among national sporting bodies to advance safeguarding standards, strengthen governance frameworks, and prioritise athlete welfare across Trinidad and Tobago.
Partnership with Safe to Play Foundation
Safe to Play Foundation is a child-focused safeguarding organisation established in May 2025 in Trinidad and Tobago. Founded by Camille Sirkissoon and Janine Mason, the Foundation was created to address the need for stronger safeguarding awareness, education, and practical child protection systems within sport and community environments.
Through this MOU, the TTFA and Safe to Play Foundation will collaborate to enhance safeguarding education, build practical protection systems, and promote a culture of accountability across football programmes. The partnership aims to bridge the gap between safeguarding principles and real-world implementation, ensuring that children and young people can participate in sport confidently, safely, and with dignity.
Safe to Play works with sporting bodies, schools, and community groups, combining education, advocacy, and system-building to promote safeguarding as a shared responsibility among all stakeholders.

Partnership with Trinidad and Tobago Table Tennis Association
The signing with the TTTTA reflects a shared commitment to strengthening safeguarding policies and governance standards across sporting disciplines.
In a statement, the TTTTA noted:
“The Trinidad and Tobago Table Tennis Association is pleased to mark today’s signing of the Memorandum of Understanding with the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA), with particular emphasis on the development and strengthening of safeguarding policies within our sporting framework.”
A Unified Approach to Safer Sport
The dual signings underscore the TTFA’s ongoing efforts to position safeguarding, integrity, and governance at the centre of sport development. By working collaboratively with national associations and specialist safeguarding organisations, the TTFA aims to contribute to a sporting environment that protects athletes, supports administrators, and promotes excellence grounded in strong ethical standards.
