TTFA Match Officials Appointed to FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025

The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) and its Referees Department are delighted to announce that Referee Kwinsi Williams, together with Assistant Referees Ainsley Rochard and Kirt Charles, have been officially selected by FIFA to officiate at the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2025, scheduled for November 3 to 27, 2025.

This prestigious appointment underscores the exceptional quality of Trinidad and Tobago’s refereeing pool and shines a spotlight on our officials’ continued dedication on the international stage.

TTFA President Kieron Edwards shared his pride in their achievement:

“We are extremely proud of Kwinsi, Ainsley, and Kirt for earning this international recognition. Their selection reflects years of hard work, commitment, and professionalism, not only on their part but also on the part of the TTFA Referees Department. This is a proud moment for Trinidad and Tobago football, and it demonstrates that our referees are capable of operating at the highest levels of the game. We wish them the very best as they carry our flag at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar.”

Background on the Officials

Referee Kwinsi Williams – A seasoned official, Williams has held a spot on the FIFA International Referees panel since being among ten local officials accepted for the 2024 calendar year . He also served in the 2023 CONCACAF Men’s Under-17 Championship held in Guatemala, including duties as fourth official—and refereed a T&T friendly against Saint Martin as well as a USA vs Serbia international in Los Angeles .

Assistant Referee Ainsley Rochard – Recognized for his long-standing service, Rochard has been officially designated as a FIFA assistant referee for 2024 . He has frequently occasioned regional appointments, including assignments in the CONCACAF/U-14 & U-15 tournaments, and was among the select group confirmed for the 2024 FIFA panel .

Assistant Referee Kirt Charles – Also earning his place on the 2024 FIFA assistant referees list, Charles joins Williams and Rochard in representing the country internationally .

This selection not only reflects the individual excellence and career progress of Williams, Rochard, and Charles, but also highlights the ongoing investment by the TTFA in building referee capacity—through rigorous training, mentorship, and opportunities to officiate at the highest levels.
