TTFA Announces Zonal Screening for Men’s National Under-20 Team

The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) wishes to announce the commencement of zonal screening for the Men’s National Under-20 team selection.

The first session will take place this Tuesday, August 6, at the La Horquetta Stadium, starting at 3:00 PM.

This screening session is specifically for Under 20 players who are within the jurisdiction of the Eastern Football Association (EFA).

The TTFA invites all eligible young talents to participate in this crucial phase of team selection. The TTFA wishes to emphasize  that this session is the first of several zonal screenings planned across the country. Future sessions will be organized for players from other zones or regional associations, ensuring that all young talents have the opportunity to showcase their skills and be considered for the national team.

Players attending the screening are required to bring one red and one white training top along with their necessary training gear. It is imperative that all participants come prepared to demonstrate their abilities and commitment to representing Trinidad and Tobago on the international stage.

TTFA President and Technical Committee chairman Kieron Edwards, highlighted the importance of these screenings, stating, “The zonal screenings are a fundamental step in identifying and nurturing the next generation of football stars. We are dedicated to providing equal opportunities for all eligible players to demonstrate their talents. Our aim is to build a strong and competitive Under-20 team that will represent our nation with pride and excellence.”

This initiative aligns with the TTFA’s broader strategy to invest in youth development and ensure a robust pipeline of talent for the future. The association is committed to offering comprehensive support and high-quality training to the selected players, preparing them for the rigors of international competition.

Newly appointed Men’s Under-20 head coach, Randolph Boyce, will be overseeing the screening process. Boyce, known for his rigid approach and dedication to youth development, expressed his excitement about the screenings, saying, “This is an excellent opportunity for young players to step up and show what they can bring to the national team. We are looking for individuals who are not only skilled but also demonstrate the right attitude, work ethic, and passion for the game.”

The TTFA encourages all eligible players to take advantage of this opportunity and participate in the zonal screening. This is a chance to be part of a transformative journey in Trinidad and Tobago football, with the potential to make a significant impact on the national and international stage.
