T&T Women begin qualifiers away to Barbados

The Trinidad and Tobago Women’s Senior National Team will begin their road to the confederation’s top women’s competitions when they face Barbados on December 1st at 4:00pm in their opening Group F match of the Concacaf W Qualifiers. The match takes place at the Kensington Oval, Barbados, where T&T will look to establish a strong start to the three-match group stage.

Competition Overview

This year’s edition of the Concacaf W Qualifiers brings together 29 Member Associations, with the exception of the Confederation’s two highest-ranked nations, the United States and Canada, who have already secured automatic qualification to the next phase.

At the end of the qualifying round, the six group winners will advance to the 2026 Concacaf W Championship, joining the United States and Canada in an eight-team final competition.

The Concacaf W Championship is the region’s premier women’s tournament and carries major implications:

Qualification for the FIFA Women’s World Cup Brazil 2027

Qualification for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games

Serves as the first of three centralized tournaments under Concacaf’s revamped women’s football calendar established in 2024.

After the opener in Bridgetown, Trinidad and Tobago will continue their qualifying journey with two additional fixtures:

March 4th: Honduras vs. Trinidad & Tobago (Away)

April 17th: Trinidad & Tobago vs. El Salvador (Home)

These matches will determine the group winner, with only the top team progressing to the W Championship.

Future Qualifying Cycle (2025/26)

Concacaf also confirmed details of the 2025/26 Women’s Qualifiers, which will again feature 29 Member Associations—excluding the USA and Canada—and will be played across the FIFA Women’s International Match Windows.

The six group winners from this cycle will join the United States and Canada to complete the eight-team lineup of the 2026 Concacaf W Championship.

T&T’s match away to Barbados marks the start of an important campaign for the Trinidad and Tobago Women’s Senior Team as they strive to secure a place among the region’s elite and pursue qualification for both the 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup and the 2028 Olympic Games.
