Sportsmax and FIFA+ sign on as Official Broadcasting partners of the TTPFL
The Trinidad and Tobago Premier Football League is now underway, and for the first time in T&T, top tier league is being broadcasted live locally, regionally, and internationally on television and on digital platforms. The TTPFL has partnered with Regional broadcasting giant, Sportsmax TV, to become the official broadcast partner. This means that select games will be shown live, via premier, and playback on Sportsmax 1 and 2, as well as via the Sportsmax app, and Ceen Tv in North America and Canada.
FIFA+ (dubbed the Netflix of football) has also invested heavily in the TTPFL by signing on as the official digital broadcasting partner, and committing to carry ALL games live on their streaming platform which is available worldwide free of charge. These games can be viewed live via links shared regularly to TTPFL social media channels, and playbacks are available on demand.
A deal was also struck with local network TTT to carry games live as well as via playback for those who may have missed the live viewing. Fans and supporters of the TTPFL, and the 12 teams competing, now have a few options available to keep up with the league and its activities. After two matchdays have been completed, with ten games being played, every single game has been broadcasted both on television and live streamed on the FIFA+ app. Scan QR code for the links and full fixtures.
On March 10th Central Fc and W. Connection christened the new league with Central’s Akeem Roach making history as the first player to ever score in the TTPFL. That game ended 2-0 In favour of the Couva Sharks. The home team in Point Fortin Civic however had to come from behind to rescue a point from a very disciplined, resilient and youthful Tiger Tanks Club Sando to draw 1-1 in front of an impressive crowd of over 1,000 persons.
The biggest and most anticipated clash on matchday one was between the star-studded AC Port of Spain and the well-oiled and experienced Defence Force on Saturday 11th at the Larry Gomes Stadium. In an entertaining encounter, AC Port of Spain defeated the Army/Coast Guard combination 3-0 to pick up the full three points and send a strong message to the rest of the clubs. Matchday one ended with a double header at the Arima Velodrome in front of a packed crowd, somewhere in the region of 1000+ supporters. Caledonia defeated Cunupia 2-0 while the second game between San Juan Jabloteh and Prison Service FC ended in a stalemate. At the end of the first weekend, AC Port of Spain was leading the standings with three points and +3 goal difference.
Matchday two came quick and fast, with Cunupia defeating San Juan Jabloteh 2-0 and W. Connection stunning Police 2-1 at the Police Barracks in St James with over 700 persons in attendance. On Saturday 18th, there was a second double header at the Arima Velodrome where Point Fortin Civic picked up their first win, defeating Prison Service Fc 2-0 courtesy an Omri Baird double. In the second encounter of the evening, Caledonia and Central Fc split the points after a 1-1 draw. On Sunday there was just one match carded, Ac Port Of Spain vs Tiger Tanks Club Sando.
The most impressive team of matchday one, AC Port of Spain, was stunned by the South team, who defeated them 1-0 courtesy a brilliant Nathaniel James effort. What a weekend! After all the dust had been cleared, Point Fortin Civic led the table with four points from two games.
TTPFL action continues midweek, with six games being played on Wednesday 22nd.
