Senior Men prepare on local turf
Trinidad and Tobago head coach Angus Eve is overseeing preparations with a squad of mostly home-based players at the Larry Gomes Stadium ahead of the upcoming Concacaf Nations League quarter finals tie with the United States.
Eve conducted his third session on Tuesday at the Arima venue and welcomed four US-based players Neveal Hackshaw, Malcolm Shaw, Noah Powder and Jesse Williams. Some of the home-based players involved include goalkeeper Denzil Smith, Christopher Biggette, Duane Muckette, Reon Moore and John Paul Rochford among others.
The final squad will be named next week for the November 16th encounter in Austin, Texas.
“It’s a very difficult task ahead. (USA) will play more of their European-based players to play the match. Also, we’re different. They will have to look at us differently also because we are a different unit. Both sets of teams are going to change up dramatically I think,” Eve told TTFA Media.
“(Our players) are fit but they are not football fit, so we’re trying to replicate those kinds of things in training. They are out of the season for the most part – the guys who play in the States and the guys who are based here.”
