TTFA Hosts Successful 2025 Ordinary Congress at UTT Point Lisas
Key financial approvals, strategic updates, and commitment to resolving matters highlighted
The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) successfully hosted its 2025 Ordinary Congress on Sunday, November 30th, at the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT), Point Lisas, where members discussed key developments, approved major financial reports, passed proposed ammendments and received updates on several critical organisational initiatives.
TTFA President Kieron Edwards addressed the membership, reaffirming the Association’s commitment to responsible governance, transparency and restoring full trust in the organisation’s operations.
Circulation of Congress Documents and Proposed Amendments
In accordance with statutory requirements, the General Secretary issued a formal circular dated 27 November 2025 to all TTFA members regarding the 2025 Ordinary Congress and the circulation of official documents.
The correspondence outlined two proposed amendments from the Executive Committee, tabled under Article 34.2 of the TTFA Statutes, for consideration at the Congress:
“Any position within the Executive Committee shall be considered vacant in case of death, resignation, or if a member of the Executive Committee, by a simple majority vote of the other members of the Executive Committee, does not participate in four consecutive meetings of the Executive Committee.”
Reason:
To ensure consistent and reliable attendance, which is essential for the efficient functioning of the Executive Committee.
“The Ordinary Congress shall be held every year in the month of September. If it is not possible to hold the Congress in September, the date of the Congress shall be decided by the Executive Committee, to be held on a date no later than the 30th November of the said year.”
Reason:
To ensure the Annual Ordinary Congress is convened timely and without undue delay.
Commitment to Resolving Outstanding Legal Matters
In one of the major statements of the Congress, the President expressed the TTFA’s full intention to settle ongoing matters currently before the courts, specifically the cases involving Terry Fenwick and Peter Miller.
He emphasised that resolving these longstanding issues remains an essential step in stabilising the Association’s financial landscape and allowing the TTFA to move forward without inherited burdens.
Financials and Budget Approved
Members approved both the TTFA’s 2024 Audited Financial Statements and the 2026 Budget, signalling confidence in the Association’s financial planning, expenditure controls, and ongoing reforms.
The approvals reflect the membership’s unified approach to strengthening financial governance and ensuring football development remains the central priority.

Activity Report Highlights
The Congress also reviewed an extensive Activity Report, which captured several key achievements over the past year, including:
Progress in grassroots and youth development programmes across both islands.
Enhanced support and resources provided to national teams at all levels.
The strengthening of the TTFA’s administrative framework, including improved communication channels with clubs, zones, and stakeholders.
Growth in commercial partnerships and renewed cooperation within the regional and international football community.
Members acknowledged the positive momentum generated during 2025 and encouraged the continued expansion of these initiatives.
Strategic Plan Nearing Completion
A major structural initiative — the TTFA’s new Strategic Plan is now in its final stages.
The President confirmed that the full document will be completed and presented to the membership by the first quarter of 2026.
The plan is expected to outline the long-term direction of Trinidad and Tobago football across governance, competitions, development pathways, infrastructure, marketing, and stakeholder engagement.
The 2025 Ordinary Congress marked a productive and forward-looking moment for the TTFA, demonstrating collective focus on financial stability, organisational reform, and development priorities.
The Association remains committed to serving its stakeholders with transparency, responsibility, and a renewed sense of purpose as it prepares for a pivotal 2026.
