TTFA launches C-B Diploma Coaching Course
The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association launched its first ever C-B Diploma Coaching License on Wednesday at the Home of Football in Couva.
The course is specifically designed to target players who have played at the highest level and are preparing for their next step of their football career.
According to TTFA Head of Coach Education, Rajesh Latchoo, the TTFA C-B Diploma coaching course aims to support student coaches in developing the competencies essential to lead the amateur football environment.
“Student coaches will be provided with the tools to create a positive learning environment to enhance young and amateur players’ footballing skills, knowledge, and attitudes,” Latchoo stated.
Throughout the course, student coaches will be encouraged to engage in reflective practices, whether formal or informal. Special topics will be added to the course to support players transitioning from the role of a player to the role of a coach.
Among the participants are current T&T Senior team captain Kevin Molino, goalkeeper Marvin Phillip, former Belgium-based midfielder Khaleem Hyland and former T&T Women’s captain Tasha St Louis.

The Diploma course for long-serving professional players will comprise at least 180 hours of education and fulfil the following requirements:
A) include the full TTFA B licence diploma course content of 120 hours plus TTFA C license modules as specified in the syllabus of this course;
B) have at least 90 hours of theory and practical units off the pitch; c) have at least 90 hours of practical units on the pitch. Duration: 10 months minimum: April 2025 to February 2026.
Development periods will involve online sessions between each face-to-face blocks and completion of guided work experience in club/team environment.
CRITERIA FOR APPLICATION: • Former or current Professional players and coaches with over 5 professional seasons of experience.
• Former or current National players or coaches who have played or sat on the bench for more than 20 international games.
• or a combination of the above amounting to a minimum total of 500 hours in the Professional Club and National team environment combined.
• Ideally for players over 30 years of age and preparing for the next step in their football career.
