TTFA President encouraged by U-15 Girls
Trinidad and Tobago Football Association (TTFA) President, Kieron Edwards, today extended his heartfelt congratulations to the Trinidad and Tobago U-15 Girls team for their encouraging performances in the Concacaf Girls U-15 Championship.
The team secured a spot in the semi-finals after a decisive 5-0 victory over Grenada on Thursday to secure a semi-final spot against Dominican Republic in League B of the Championship. The game starts at 9:00am at the Hasely Crawford Stadium. T&T drew their opening match with Antigua/Barbuda 0-0 before bouncing back with a 1-0 win over Curacao on Tuesday.
“The U-15 Girls team has shown remarkable determination and skill throughout the tournament, and their performance against Grenada is a testament to their hard work and dedication. We are proud of their achievement and eagerly anticipate their upcoming semi-final match against the Dominican Republic,” said Edwards.
Edwards also acknowledged the TTFA High Performance Squad’s impressive 1-0 win over St. Kitts and Nevis on Tuesday, which allowed the team to finish the group stage with a solid four points.
“I am equally pleased with the encouraging display by the TTFA High Performance Squad. Their dedication and perseverance on the field have been commendable, and they continue to strive for betterment ,” Edwards added.
While celebrating these achievements, Edwards emphasized that there is still more work to be done. “We are on the right path, but this is just the beginning. The success of our youth teams is a clear indication that our strategies are yielding results but there is a still more to be done. However, we remain fully committed to the continued development of our players, coaches, and infrastructure. Our goal is to see Trinidad and Tobago football thrive on the regional and international stages, and we will not rest until we achieve that.”
The TTFA remains dedicated to fostering young talent and strengthening the foundations of football in Trinidad and Tobago. These recent successes reflect the positive direction in which the association is wants to lead our football towards.
