Girls High Performance Update

The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association’s Girls’ High-Performance Programme continues to take shape, with the current group of U14 and U15 players now working towards a busy international calendar in 2027.

The Trinidad phase of the programme got underway at the end of July 2026, providing a structured environment for some of the country’s promising young female players to train, develop and prepare for the next level.

As part of the ongoing process, a screening and assessment exercise was held from August 27-30, allowing the technical staff to further evaluate the players and identify areas for continued development.

The current programme cycle is geared towards preparing the group for three major international competitions in 2027 — the CFU Girls’ U14 Challenge Series, the FIFA Girls’ U15 Festival and the Concacaf Girls’ U16 Competition.

With those tournaments ahead, the programme is intended to give the players consistent preparation and exposure while helping to build a clear pathway from the youth level into future national teams.

Plans are also underway to begin the Tobago phase of the Girls’ High-Performance Programme shortly, ensuring that talented young players from both islands have the opportunity to be identified and developed.

The wider objective is to continue strengthening the female player pathway across Trinidad and Tobago and to create a stronger foundation for the future of the women’s game.
